Winter Vetch [Vicia villosa] found at Fletcher Park on 1 June 2013. It’s a vine that’s a member of the Pea (Fabaceae) family. Wildflowers of the Carolinas, pages 178-179, states it can be found in dry disturbed areas, roadsides, old fields, and in sun. These flowers were on the border of a field that was in the process of being plowed.
