Orange Hawkweed or Devil’s Paintbrush

Orange Hawkweed or Devil’s Paintbrush[Hieracium aurantiacum] found in Edwards, New York, near the Town Barn, and in Hermon, near the cemetery, on 21 June 2013. It’s a member of the Aster (Asteraceae) family. Newcomb’s Wildflower Guide, pages 360-361, says that it comes out from spring to fall and calls it a “troublesome weed of fields and pastures.”
